| In this week's installment of 9 to 5: Taking Your Look from Day to Night, we take a simple silk tank like this one by Vince, and pair it with a pencil skirt and blazer for day and then a pair of skinnies for evening. A basic but good quality tank in a luxurious fabric is the perfect addition to your work wardrobe. You'll also get extra mileage out of it by pairing it with something more casual, like denim. The texture of this skirt adds interest to the outfit. This skirt is a great work piece because you can pair it with a tucked in ruffled blouse, belted cardigan or blazer, for a versatile look. The blazer we choose here is a slightly shorter, more fitted blazer to give the overall outfit a more structured, work-appropriate feel. This blazer would also work well over a dress. The shoes are a very neutral but sophisticated pair of beige pumps. A classic design that will get you through many seasons. The result? Night:
To take this outfit from day to evening, we’ve swapped out the skirt, shoes and blazer for a pair of skinny jeans, sexy stilettos and a chick little bag. Wear the tank untucked over the jeans. Studded bags remain a hot trend and this one by Rebecca Minkoff is a good size to carry your evening essentials and has a long strap.
