Skinny leg jeans have certainly caused a fashion dilemma for many. Some women feel they cannot wear the look or it is unflattering. However, with so many choices in style, we have found there is a slim-legged jean for almost all body types.
After just returning from France, I can tell you, the look is not going away any time soon! Skinny jeans were everywhere, and French women wore the style in the best possible ways. In addition to the classic look of these jeans paired with ballet flats, and updated way to wear them is with a platform heal. Make sure jeans are long enough to scrunch a bit at the ankles. For a 50s retro look, go with ankle-length skinny jeans and peep-toed heals. In cooler temperatures, tuck slim legs into tall or scrunched boots (not ankle). We also saw skinny jeans worn casually, with a gray tee shirt and flat tennis shoes or thongs. It was an effortless look. To keep proportioned, opt for longer tops; cinch the look with a wide, low slung belt.
Some of our favorites in skinny legged denim:
1) J-Brand Cigarette-Leg Jeans
2) Hudson Supermodel Straight Leg Jean in Smoke
3) Joe's Jeans 'Chelsea' Stretch Jeans
We think the skinny legged trend will be sticking around for a few seasons, and, like others, may evolve into a classic. Keep in mind however, that straight leg and boot cut denim still have their place. |
