When the folks at Avon reached out to me about trying a "spot corrector", I thought - this product is not for me. I am aging, but do not have any visable age spots yet. These two Clinique classics have been staples in my beauty arsenal for years.

I'm vigilant about sun protection and the SPF 15 in Clinique's Long Last Glosswear makes it easy and fun to protect my lips from UV damage. The Bamboo Pink is a flattering, pinky-nude with shimmer that compliments just about any makeup look.

Recommended to me by my beauty bargain buddy, Deb, this eyeliner has the creamy softness of a pencil with the staying power of a gel. It takes few minutes to set (so don't move) but once it does, it won't budge! Also, the colors are gorgeous. I can't get enough of the "Brown" shade. It's the color of strong espresso with a delicate kiss of gold shimmer. It makes my blue eyes pop!

Color Burst Lip Butter by Revlon ($6.49)
Ultra smooth and hydrating, this luxurious lip balm plus color burst moisturizes for hours. Comes in 20 amazing shades so there's literally something for everyone. I love the nude Creme Brulee color. It's is the perfect lip accompaniment for smokey eyes.

Maybelline Chic Naturals ExpertWear Eyeshadow Quads $(5.99)
These foolproof color shadow quads from Maybelline come with handy application instructions (base, lid, crease, liner) pressed directly into the eye shadow. Skip the sponge applicators and invest in a couple of good makeup brushes for flawless application. I am never without the "Mocha Motion" color pallet.

CoverGirl LashBlast Fusion Water Resistant Mascara ($8.99)
I've tried oodles of other mascaras, but I always come back to this one. It lengthens, defines, and volumizes. The spiky rubber brush allows me to wiggle the formula between every single lash. The waterproof formula lasts all day and doesn't flake or smudge.

It's never too early to start a good skin care regime. The effects of age, air pollution and toxins can start to affect your skin beginning in your early 20s. But many of the negative effects can be postponed with a good skin care regimen and the right products.

Here are 5 easy ways to keep skin looking youthful and healthy:

1) Cleanse Skin Nightly: Even though it may be tempting to go to sleep with that eye makeup on, it really pays to take the extra 5 minutes to cleanse skin. Let's face it. None of us are getting any younger. But there are things we can do to keep skin youthful. I haven't gone the botox route, and don't plan to. Of course I love anything that stains my teeth: red wine, coffee, tea, and curry to name a few. So I'm constantly on the lookout for low-maintenance, inexpensive ways to keep my smile white.
