Take Flight with Summer Feather Prints
By Alexandra Gambardella, The Find

This spring and summer, statement-making prints are having a major moment – in the form of bags, flats, dresses, pants, you name it! – but that doesn't mean you have to rely on the tired seasonal patterns we've seen over and over again. Move over, florals, polka dots, and ikat – feather prints are here to add a fresh new alternative for our favorite patterned pieces. With a boho-inspired vibe that's cool and carefree yet stylish and fresh, feather prints are a fun way to update your summer wardrobe! From oversized blouses to printed loafer flats, and silky patterned pants, check out some of my favorite feather-emblazoned pieces in the links below!

Great Gatsby Inspired Lips, Courtesy of Julep's Jazz Lipstick Trio
By Alexandra Gambardella, The Find

The Great Gatsby has officially hit theaters, and with it has come a new appreciation for the styles of the Roaring 20s, not to mention plenty of 20s-inspired parties. In celebration of the decade we associate with jazz, flappers, pin curls, and red lipstick, Julep (known mostly for their popular nail lacquers) has debuted a set of three gold-cased mini lipsticks that will have you breaking out your favorite fringe-y dress and feathered headband. The New York Jazz Lipstick Trio, much like its Paris-themed counterpart, includes three shades – Tea for Two (a nude shimmer), Satin Doll (a sheer poppy shade) and Lady in Red (a matte crimson). The set retails for $28 and makes the perfect gift for anyone who appreciates a little throwback flair, or who likes to switch up their lip color with different shades and finishes. Don't forget to pick one up for yourself, too!

San Francisco Gets its Own Converse Store
By Alexandra Gambardella, The Find

San Francisco weather may be impossibly unpredictable, but one thing remains constant – the sky-high hills we San Franciscans are forced to trek day after day! Sure, the hilly terrain is one of the many things we SF inhabitants love about our city, but it's also the thing that necessitates an arsenal of comfy footwear in our tiny-teeny San Francisco closets! But not to worry – SF is getting its very own Converse store to help equip its residents with more fashionable-yet-functional sneakers to take the city on, one foot after the other. Over the next few weeks, Converse is launching its Brooklyn-based Rubber Tracks concept in SF, which includes a five-night summer concert series, offers up free studio time to local bands, and even boasts a sweet sneaker customization station, where you can help design your own personalized pair of shoes, like the SF-inspired kicks you see in the photos above. Don't forget to stop by the BIGGEST Converse store nationwide when it opens up in SF later this month!

Beauty Roundup: 4 Ways to Beat Summer Heat
In the balmy (ok rainy) Pacific Northwest, our skin care regime usually stays pretty steady. But as soon as June hits and temps get a little warmer, our skin starts to need extra help staying balanced and protected from the sun.

Here are a few must-have beauty items Emma and I are loving this summer:

Cover Girl + Olay Pressed Powder

Pressed Powder:
I've been searching for a good pressed powder for a while now. The one I was using was expensive and felt too heavy on my face so when I was given Cover Girl + Olay Pressed Powder ($5.95) I was excited to test it out. Being that it’s so inexpensive I was a little skeptical at first but surprised by the results. I have very oily skin mostly around my nose and forehead and after I applied the powder I couldn’t even tell it was on my face like you often can with powders. I put it over my tinted moisturizer and it left my face with a smooth and natural looking finish. I have pretty fair skin but have been out in the sun the last couple of weeks so the 350 medium shade worked well for me. CoverGirl +Olay Powder is non- comedogenic meaning that it won’t produce or aggravate acne, suitable for sensitive skin (which I definitely have) and won’t clog your pores.-Emma

Lanvanila The Healthy Sun Screen SPF 40 Face Cream

Sunscreen for Face
With sunny weather, it becomes even more important to protect skin. But you should use an SPF that won't clog your pores or make skin breakout. I love The Healthy Sun Screen SPF 40 Face Cream by Lavanila because the all-natural formula is free from harsh chemicals. I keep the compact tube in my purse for touchups if I know I will be outside for long periods. The formula offers fantastic protection as well as antioxidants and botanicals to help keep skin looking younger and healthier. I have sensitive skin, and this formula does not cause any breakouts. It easily melts into skin and without any white residue. PS: If you are looking for an all-natural deodorant, Lavanila has an amazing selection.-Andrea

IT&LY Pure Water Drops

Frizz-Fighting Hair Serum
I have super thick color treated hair and use a straightener daily so I am always on the lookout for a great hair serum that will give my hair that added shine. I’ve tried many serums including the popular Moroccan oil and Frizz-Ease but never liked how they left my hair feeling sort of greasy afterwards. After trying IT&LY Pure Water Drops ($30.79) I was extremely happy with the results. The clear serum has a woodsy fragrance that’s not overwhelming and all that’s needed is just a drop or two. My hair had a nice natural looking shine to it and my fried ends looked much healthier. The serum contains natural products of sandalwood and barley extracts, which are shine enhancers that don’t weigh your hair down like many other serums often do. I definitely recommend you give this one a try! -Emma

Gluten-Free Lipstick and lipgloss

Moisturizing Lipstick
During warmer months, my lips tend to get dry. I try to keep lip balm on hand, but don't always remember to re-apply. Red Apple Lipstick's formulas are super creamy and last through the morning. Plus, they are Gluten-Free which is a major bonus. (Do you know how much lipstick you will eat in a lifetime?) They've got every color under the sun - right now my favorite is Plum Sexy Crazy, it has a hint of red for a bold lip.-Andrea

Warm-Weather Leather: It's All in the Details

By our fashion and beauty intern Emma Hollomon

Leather has quickly become a spring fashion staple and if squeezing into a pair of leather pants just isn’t your thing there are many other ways to rock the look. With leather embellishments on sleeves, collars, bows, handbags and hair accessories, the options are infinite. We especially love leather detailing because it combines soft, flirty elements with the most unexpected treatment, giving off a striking spring look that works for day or night. There's a warm-weather leather style for everyone at every budget and we’ve rounded up some of our favorite leather pieces.

Faux Leather mini

Faux Leather mini

We love how this tough faux Leather black mini dress (on sale!) is sweetened up thanks to the sliver of lady-like lace down the middle. Pair it with low-rise booties or black and white pumps for an edgy, night on the town look.

Faux Leather Trim Tank

Faux Leather Trim Tank

This minimalistic tank with faux leather Piping from Zara adds just enough edge paired with denim and a great pair of bright suede heels adding a classic famine touch for a day time ensemble.

Leather Sleeve T

Leather Sleeve T

If you’re a jeans and T-shirt girl, this is for you. We love how this soft, pink scoop-neck tee (on sale!) is unexpectedly sexy with the boxy leather sleeves, putting a wild twist on a casual classic. This would look great paired with a curve hugging pencil skirt or these Vince destroyed skinny black jeans.

Black Leather Shorts

Black Leather Shorts

They’re tough, they’re chic, and if paired with the right ensemble, leather shorts can be quite sophisticated. We love this pair from Rag & Bone with the girly cotton lace trim on the bottom. They would look perfect with a white blouse and these Nude Ballet flats from Asos.com.

What do you think of the leather trend? How would you wear it?

Bring on the Bling! 5 Statement-Making Bejeweled Cuffs

Last summer, bracelets totally ruled the accessories world. Fashion bloggers and aspiring style mavens alike were spotted piling on edgy takes on friendship bracelets with studded and spiked bangles, and other stackable pieces for the ultimate "arm candy" display. This summer, however, bracelets are just as statement-making, but in a decidedly bolder, standalone way! Bejeweled cuffs in all shapes and sizes are helping fashionistas get their bling on in the form of one central, eye-catching piece. From tribal-inspired starburst shapes to pretty pastels and even all-over rhinestones, it's officially your time to shine – even in the daytime! Give your bib necklaces a much-needed break and opt for letting your wrist do the talking, either on its own, or paired with some coordinating earrings!

Tame Tresses With Aloxxi Styling Products

By our fashion and beauty intern Emma Hollomon

Tame Tresses With Aloxxi Styling Products

My hair is naturally curly and tends to frizz out in rainy weather so I’m always excited to try new hair products that will help fight the frizz. When I was given Aloxxi Essential 7 Hair Serum and Aloxxi Weightless Styling Gel I was eager to put them both to the test. The Aloxxi Essential 7 Serum ($34.99) is a blend of seven essential oils including olive, grape, sunflower, geranium, clary sage, jojoba and walnut, which explains why my color treated heat damaged hair looked so soft and shiny after using it for a week. If your hair is on the drier side, I definitely recommend trying this product because it doesn’t leave your hair looking oily like we all know many serums often do.

The Aloxxi Weightless Styling Gelee ($19.99) also did an amazing job at taming frizz. I applied a small amount before blow-drying my hair as the directions explain and came out with half the frizz I normally do after blow-drying. I didn’t use these two products together because I wanted to see the results of both products on their own but you can definitely use the two simultaneously in your daily hair routine.

For more information on Aloxxi Styling Products and the Aloxxi Hair color System, visit Aloxxi.com.

Thanks Aloxxi and LuckyFABB for these gift bag samples!

Let Your Wardrobe Take a Trip to the Tropics

The latest and greatest addition to the fashion world's ever-growing print trend will either make you really upset that you're not on vacation... or just help you live out your dream getaway – vicariously through your wardrobe! I couldn't help but notice paradise-inspired patterns popping up in various stores lately – from Zara and Forever 21 to online retailers like Shopbop and Nasty Gal – and while they were a bit difficult to relate to in the earlier, chillier months of 2013, now that spring is officially right around the corner, I'm ready to embrace them! Fitted tank dresses, floaty tanks and tees, and even festive blazers – tropical prints serve to add a healthy dose of bold, bright color in a way that's a bit less basic than last year's neon color-blocking frenzy. Part of me is a little bit bitter that I can't take the time off to hit the beach in person, but if nothing else, these tropical prints are bound to brighten up anyone's day!

Work Out In Style with Ellie
Workout in style with Ellie Work out wear

With 2 kiddos and a full-time job, these days, even a quick workout is a luxury. I used to throw on an old t-shirt and sweats for a walk around the neighborhood loop. But recently I learned about Ellie. Ellie Activewear is fashionable and high quality. I was able to try out a great hot pink tank top and black capri pants, and they have been my go-to workout uniform ever sense.

Workout in style with Ellie Work out wear

Ellie's collection ranges from boldly-hued tops to basic black bottoms in styles for every body. The designer's behind the collection combine their love of fashion and fitness to bring you a set of high-quality workout wear that is as beautiful as it is understated.

I was impressed by the quality of the fabrics and the style of the products - clearly some technical love was put into both pieces. The best part? Fit and function in sweat-resistant fabrics that wash easily and are ready for the next workout!

I have to admit, I also love the fact that I can wear these pieces while running errands and don't look like I am training for an athletic event. Ellie offers a variety of cuts and colors - designed to fit whatever your style or body shape. Give the site a browse and save 20% on your purchase. You can also sign up for their Fit Fashionista Club where you can choose any 2 pieces for $49.95, get free shipping and access to exclusive events.

Get a Natural Glow with Xen Tan

By our fashion and beauty intern Emma Hollomon

Xen Tan Self Tanner

I have tried many self-tanners and Xen Tan Products are definitely at the top of my list. I received a sample of the Scent Secure Gold Tinted Moisturizer ($35.00) to try out. because on my pale skin it blends in perfectly and with just one-application gives me a natural looking glow. It’s easy to apply with no offensive smell and the color never looked fake after I kept reapplying it all week.

The secret behind Xen Tan’s natural-looking self-tan is a time-release agent. The agent controls the amount of the sunless tan ingredient released on the skin during application. When released too quickly, DHA creates the unpleasant odors and trademark orange finish. XEN-TAN's time-release process leaves flawless and natural results never streaking. This is a must try product if you want a tan that looks completely natural while allowing you to build color gradually.

Tried and True Skincare Classic: Biore Deep Cleansing Pore Strips

By our fashion and beauty intern Emma Hollomon

Biore Deep Cleansing Pore Strips

With the many products out there aimed at unclogging pores and reducing the size of pores I am usually a bit skeptical. However I can confidently say that Biore Deep Cleansing Pore Strips are hands down one of the most effective products on the market. I have been using them for several years now and I’m always amazed at how effective these things are at removing oil from my pores. My face always feels clean and refreshed like I had just left the spa.

Biore's Deep Cleansing pore strips aren’t messy and are incredibly easy to use. They’re cloth like strips that are applied to a wet face then left for 15 minutes until dried like paper-mache. When dry, gently peel off the strip to reveal the oil that has been removed from your pores. You can find these at any drug store or on Amazon for half the price. These are a must have for you weekly beauty routine.

What is your tried-and-true skincare product?
