Look Luxe This Fall With Lace Accessories
From our friends at The Find:

It seems like in every store I peruse through, there are racks and racks of lace-detailed tops and lace-trimmed skirts and dresses. I'm not sure when exactly the whole lacy look came back, but it seems like it's already gone into overkill mode! Don't get me wrong, I love the idea of lingerie-inspired looks, but when it's hard to tell if a dress is just "inspired" or is actually a negligee trying to be passed off as a dress, the whole "less is more" idea turns into just plain letting it all hang out rather than leaving things to the imagination.

In order to still incorporate the slinky, sexy lacy look without going overboard, I'm all about lace accessories for the season ahead. A lace print bag or a lacy scarf are great fall-friendly alternatives to going totally see-through with your tops or dresses. Or you can go GaGa with your hosiery by swapping your plain tights or leggings for lace print ones like these from Topshop. And last but not least, if you're feeling a little "blah" over your basic black pumps, these Jeffrey Campbell lace peep-toe platforms are a sexy way to indulge in the sheer trend!

Shop Your Closet: Military Jackets
From our friends at College Candy:

When moving into either a dorm or an off-campus apartment, your wardrobe will face two major challenges:

1. A major lack of funding (to add more to it).
2. A major lack of storage space.

For these two reasons alone, maximizing what you do own becomes essential. And that’s why I’m bringing back the Shop Your Closet series. Each week, I’ll show you how to wear 1 item 3 ways – with the stuff you most likely already own! – to get the most out of your purchases. With the growing popularity of 6 Items or Less it can’t be that difficult to remix one item, right?

My favorite clothing item this fall is the utilitarian military jacket. Originally popular in the grunge era known as the ’90s, a utilitarian jacket in your closet is not only on-trend, but necessary. The military jacket – thanks to its neutral color and shape – is incredibly practical and versatile. There are very few things that can’t be worn with one and its the easiest way to completely re-style the staples that are already in your closet. Check out Who What Wear to see how the celebs are embracing the army jacket.

Look 1:

Shop Your Closet: Military Jackets

Jacket, Dress, Shoes, Bag. Add edge to a sweet dress with a military jacket. The toughness of the jacket juxtaposed with the femininity of the dress are the perfect contrast. As this dress is fairly simple, the studded detail on the shoes add some visual interest along with the pop of color. This is an easy everyday look, as the jacket makes the overall feel of the outfit more casual. Add a contrasting shoulder bag to incorporate even more color (and fun!) into your look.

A Better Way To Shop For A Handbag?
When shopping online for a handbag, it's often hard to tell the quality of the bag - is the leather supple or stiff? What tone of metal is the hardware? Well, one of our favorite online handbag sites, Stefani Bags, has just launched stefaniBagsTV, which features handbag and product reveals. Like the shop girl at your local boutique, the presenter on StefaniBagsTV describes the bags and gives you a visual tour of each detail - from stitching to zippers to pockets.

Check out their most recent reveal of the Botkier Hugh Satchel in Espresso ($525). Watching this reveal resulted in me putting this bag on my handbag wish list! I love the versatility of it being worn as a satchel or larger tote bag!

End of Summer Sales
From our friends at College Candy:

Although the end of summer means the end of many good things in life (i.e. slip n' slides, lemonade stands, dunk tanks, debating the possibility of frying an egg on your driveway...), the end of summer also means the beginning of something brand new. Something fresh and exciting. Something every style-hungry college girl craves out there...

End-of-summer sale racks.

Overflowing with those highly coveted summer items, now super duper cheap, they are a fashionista's dream come true. And just in time for Labor Day! Can you handle it?? I barely can. In fact, I'm itching to toss this computer aside and haul ass to the mall, frizzy hair be damned. Oh, but wait. We have the sales right at here at our manicured fingertips. And it's all under $20? Who says dreams don’t come true?

End of Summer Sale!

These shoes are the perfect transition piece to get you ready for fall fashion. I'm loving the gray suede and the detailed, strappy style. Especially the zipper on the back which makes for easy on (when you’re running late to class in the morning) and easy off (when you’re running into your bed with your honey).

End of Summer Sale!

For some reason, I LOVE these. They are flirty and bright and remind me a little of my childhood. However, if you’re a little nervous about they color, they also come in coal-gray and black. At only $11.50, this makes Forever 21's list of Fabulous Finds. And with a crisp, simple white tee and a pair of flippy floppies, I would have to agree.

End of Summer Sale!

Anndddd another adorbz romper. I'm starting my own collection in my closet and this one is quickly making its way to the top of the pile. (Yes, pile. Don't judge.) The budding rose print and sweetheart neckline is so bubble gum sweet, and rompers are a great tool to begin creating layered fall outfits. At $12.80, this Gwen Stefani inspired romper wishes to be mine.

Shoe Trend: Heel Details
A recent post on Ruthie Davis heels made us notice the amazing details seen on the heels of shoes. Studs, chains, rhinestones and leather work - heel details are quickly becoming a main attraction in footwear. Much like a dress with a plain front and look-at-me back, these shoes keep the attention even as you walk away!

Badgley Mischka Fidel Pump Report Signature Remsen Open Toe Pumps
Jessica Simpson Nellia
Nina Ravine Pump ROSEGOLD Miles Draped Suede Pumps

1) Badgley Mischka Fidel Pump, $225. Perfect for a dressy evening, stunning rhinestone flower vines wind up the heel.

2) Report Signature Remsen Open Toe Pumps, $225. Seductive black leather lace-up black heels make a vixen out of anyone!

3) Jessica Simpson Nellia, $89.99. Neutral leather lace-ups reveal a darker leather heel for a casual two-tone look.

4) ROSEGOLD Miles Draped Suede Pumps, $158. Fabulous because they are blue suede, and because of the detailed leatherwork up the back heel.

5) Nina Ravine Pump, $99. The satin upper and girlie bow detail make these another fun evening option.

What do you think of this trend?

Fashionable Footwear Solution for Aching Feet
Hollywood Fashionista Flats

Whether a pair of 4 inch Christian Louboutin stilettos or sky-high Betsey Johnson platforms, heels are the finishing touch to any outfit. And while we all know the old adage about suffering to look beautiful, at some point our feet need a well-deserved break. The brilliant minds behind Hollywood Fashion Tape have come up with a stylish way to give your feet some relief.

Hollywood Fashionista Flats are comfy ballet flats that fold up and fit into a tiny pouch, ready to relieve your aching feet at any time.

Tuck them into your handbag, glove compartment, desk drawer, or anywhere you may need to have them on hand. The zipper pouch converts into a handy tote to store your beloved pumps until you get them home.

I had the chance to try these out and boy did they come in handy! I wore some of my favorite pumps to a dinner party the other night. By the end of the evening, my feet were sore, but my husband was not ready to go home! So, I whipped out the Fashionista Flats (in gold) and swapped out my heels for them. Instant foot relief! The material of the flats very flexible, and they are lined in a soft material. The style is super cute - like a pair of basic ballet flats I'd buy and wear everyday. I wear a size 7 shoe, and found that the Mediums fit well for me. (I also tried a large but that was too big). The little pouch unfolds easily, and the tote fit my shoes. These would definitely be something I'd leave in my car for when my feet are aching.

Hollywood Fashionista Flats come in gold or black - either choice works well with pretty much anything. They are sized to fit any foot, from S-XL and retail for $17.99.

Fashion Shopping List: Sheer Layered Ruffle Tanks
One item that is currently on my shopping list is a pretty, sheer layered tank, like the ones below. The light blush pink color pair well with everything from grey to white to navy. Tanks can worn alone now during warmer weather, and will transition elegantly into Fall by adding a crisp blazer or cozy cardigan. The cascading layers of ruffles are so pretty, and the sheer fabrics give your whole outfit a romantic feel.

Beauty Product Review: Sigma Complete Brush Kit
We love College Candy's series called "In Our Makeup Bag" which reviews and rates beauty products. Don't miss this one on Sigma Makeup Brushes!

From our friends at College Candy:

Sigma Complete Brush Kit

What it is: Sigma Complete Brush Kit

Why this should be in your bag: Makeup brushes are essential for any girl who wears eyeshadow, blush, bronzer, etc (read: EVERYONE). Like most, I started out with cheap brushes from the local drugstore, but quickly realized that if I’m buying quality makeup, I should also be investing in quality brushes. A brush of exceptional quality will have soft bristles, little fall-out and pick up lots of product. It’s amazing how much of a difference a brush makes in your application. Good brushes will allow you to look polished and your best, blending when they should and depositing just the right amount of color! However, I have a pretty hard time parting with 50 of my hard earned dollars for one measly MAC brush. I’ve been searching for an affordable alternative to MAC (and other luxury brands) and I think Sigma might fit that bill!

How to use it: This section is going to be a bit longer than usual. This set comes with 12 brushes, but I’m just going to review a few of my favorites here! Don’t get me wrong, the whole set is a good buy (you save $73!), but I only have space for standouts!

F40 – Large Angled Contour

Sigma Complete Brush Kit

This is a great brush for applying brush and highlighters to cheeks. I bought the infamous MAC Stereo Rose and was absolutely dumbfounded with it. It just didn’t look that great on! I never even thought that the brush I used to apply it would make such a huge difference. F40 was perfect for this! It deposited the most color on the apples of my cheeks and then faded back into my hairline. I’ve tested this out with other blushes and used it with contouring bronzer in the hollows of my cheeks with equally great results.

E70 – Medium Angled Shading

Sigma Complete Brush Kit

I had never tried an angled eyeshadow brush before this one (I know, terrible!). It’s great for not only applying color in the crease, but it’s my favorite for highlighting on the browbone and blending out smokey eyes. It’s soft and holds it shape.

Click here to see the rest of the brushes and get College Candy's rating of the Sigma Complete Brush Kit!
